Park Ji Sung and I ^^

Hi^^
wow! i just know that Park Ji Sung was honoured to captain Manchester United (23/2/2012). so because yesterday is his birthday (and my birthday also), i post a little about him, Ji Sung Park.^^
here from my great comrade (wikipedia)

Park Ji-Sung (Hangul: 박지성; Hanja: 朴智星; Korean pronunciation: [pak̚t͈ɕisʌŋ]; sometimes romanised as Park Ji-Suong; born 25 February 1981) is a South Korean footballer who plays as a midfielder for English club Manchester United. He was also the captain of the South Korean national team until his retirement from international football. He is the most decorated Asian footballer in history, as the first Asian player to have won the Champions League trophy and the first Asian to have played in a final of the UEFA Champions League.

Park began his football career in his native South Korea and played for the Myongji University team before moving to Japan to play for Kyoto Purple Sanga. After Park's national team manager Guus Hiddink moved back to the Netherlands to manage PSV Eindhoven, Park followed him to the Dutch side a year later. After PSV reached the semi-finals of the 2004–05 UEFA Champions League, Park's talents were recognised by Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson and he signed Park for a fee of around £4 million in July 2005. Since then, Park has won the Premier League four times and has also won the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Park is able to play anywhere across the midfield and is noted for his exceptional fitness level, discipline, work ethic and off-the-ball movement.

As a member of the South Korean national team, Park won 100 caps and scored 13 goals, and was a member of the team that finished fourth at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He also represented his nation at the 2006 FIFA World Cup and was captain at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Park scored in all three consecutive tournaments (the first South Korean and only second Asian player to do so) and is currently Asia's joint all-time leading goalscorer at the FIFA World Cup finals with three goals, alongside compatriot Ahn Jung-Hwan, and Saudi Arabia's Sami Al-Jaber. After the 2011 Asian Cup, on 31 January 2011, Park announced that he was retiring from international football at a press conference held by the Korea Football Association in Seoul.

and the new news

Park Ji-sung admits the honour of leading out Manchester United for the first time on Thursday night was ruined by losing to Ajax.

The 30-year-old was named as skipper in the absence of Patrice Evra and became the first man from South Korea to do so.

But his special night became a bitter-sweet memory after the side crashed to a 2-1 defeat to the Dutch side in the second leg of the Europe League tie.

"It was a great honour to be named Manchester United captain," he said. "It is not something I ever thought about doing, but I would have preferred the result to be better."

Despite the result United are safely through to a last-16 encounter with Athletic Bilbao next month.
Experience

Park says that with the Europa League tie safely behind them the team are able to focus all their attention on catching up Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

A tricky tie away to over-achieving Norwich on Sunday is next before there is a crucial encounter against the other main challenger to their title in third-placed Tottenham.

But Park believes the experience of chasing teams down will help second-placed United in their race to replace City at the summit.

"From now on, every match in the Premier League is important," he said. "We have to keep pressing Manchester City.

"We have experienced this kind of pressure before. It is a big advantage for us that we have that kind of experience.

"That is the biggest difference between Manchester City and us and we have to see how they deal with it. Hopefully it will help us win the league."
