well, there is a festival about cartoon and animation in Seoul, South Korea. it's called Sicaf (Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival.
much activities in this festival, such as exhibition, competition, screening, etc. all about cartoon and animation in Korea.

actually, manhwa in my country (Indonesia) isn't wellknown like Japan's manga. but, after hanllyu came to Indonesia, mahwa rise slowly to Indonesian reader.
so do the animation. however there are some of animation which are producted by korean animation playing on our tv, but people don't notice them as korean animation.
some korean animation in Indonesian tv are doong doong (doong doong site here), vicky and johnny, larva, bernard bear, oscar oasis which from Tuba ent and synergy media
well, maybe because these korean animator works for US studio. *i don't know how to tell it. hehehehe*
but....now, korean animation are world wide.
